Author Guidelines
For the publication of an article in Łódzkie Studia Humanistyczne, issue no. 7 (2026), it is necessary to send the article prepared in accordance with the requirements to the editorial office’s email address by 1 August 2026.
No more than one article by the same author (co-author) may be published in the issue.
The editorial board encourages authors to submit manuscripts in English to facilitate the international dissemination of research findings.
The decision to accept or reject a manuscript is based solely on its relevance to the journal’s scope, the outcome of peer review, and the scientific quality of the research, and is not influenced by any financial considerations.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Original research articles that have not been previously published, are not under consideration by another journal, and correspond to the journal's scope are accepted for review.
The manuscript must present the results of original scientific research and demonstrate scientific novelty, relevance, and theoretical or practical significance.
The Editorial Board adheres to the principles of publication ethics established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Submission of a manuscript confirms that all authors approve its content, verify the accuracy of the data presented, and accept responsibility for the integrity and reliability of the work.
Languages of publication: Polish, English, Ukrainian, and other official languages of the European Union.
Manuscript Structure
The manuscript file must include:
- the title of the article in the language of the manuscript and in English;
- the author's (authors') full name(s);
- ORCID iD;
- affiliation (institution), city, country;
- corresponding author's e-mail address;
- abstract in the language of the manuscript and in English;
- keywords in the language of the manuscript and in English;
- the main text of the article;
- References.
The author's (authors') name(s) in English must be transliterated in accordance with the official transliteration standards applicable in the author's country.
PROHIBITION ON THE USE OF SOURCES FROM THE AGGRESSOR STATE
The citation in the text and inclusion in the reference list of sources published in Russian in any country, as well as sources published in any language in the territory of Russia or Belarus, are prohibited, except where such sources constitute the object of critical analysis within the research itself.
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
By submitting a manuscript, the author confirms that:
- the work is original;
- all borrowed material is properly cited;
- the research results have not been fabricated or falsified;
- the manuscript has not been submitted simultaneously to another journal.
All manuscripts undergo double-anonymous peer review and are screened for text similarity using StrikePlagiarism.com.
If violations of the principles of academic integrity are identified, the Editorial Board reserves the right to reject the manuscript or retract an article that has already been published.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Articles are accepted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). The recommended length of the manuscript is 15,000–40,000 characters (including spaces).
Page layout:
- margins: 2 cm (top), 2 cm (bottom), 3 cm (left), 1.5 cm (right);
- first-line indent: 1.25 cm;
- line spacing: 1.5;
- font: Times New Roman, 14 pt.
If the manuscript contains tables and/or figures, they must be concise, provided with titles, and formatted in Times New Roman, 12 pt. Tables and figures should not exceed the width of the page and must be placed at the appropriate points within the text.
The following are not permitted:
- using tabs or multiple spaces for formatting;
- condensed or expanded character spacing;
- scanned images;
- low-resolution figures.
Figures should be submitted in high resolution (JPEG or JPG). Tables should be concise and included only where necessary to present the research findings.
STRUCTURE OF THE SCIENTIFIC ARTICLE
The title should accurately reflect the content of the article and should not exceed 13 words.
The abstract (100–150 words) should be clear, informative, and self-contained. It should briefly present the background of the study, its objective, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions or future research perspectives. The abstract should be understandable without reference to the full text.
Provide 6–8 keywords that reflect the subject of the article without duplicating words used in the title.
The manuscript should include an introduction, the main body of the paper, and conclusions.
The following structure is recommended:
- Introduction
- Materials and Methods (where applicable)
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusions
For humanities research, the manuscript may instead be organized into logically structured thematic sections with appropriate headings.
The Introduction should present the research problem in the context of the relevant international literature and clearly state the purpose of the study.
The main body of the manuscript should define the research objectives, describe the materials and methods (where applicable), present the results, and discuss their significance. The objectives should correspond to the title and purpose of the study.
The description of materials and methods should enable the study to be reproduced. For widely recognized methods, an appropriate reference is sufficient.
The Results section should present the findings logically and support them with appropriate evidence. Data presented in tables and figures should not be duplicated in the text; instead, the text should summarize and interpret them. Where quantitative data are reported, both absolute and relative values should be provided, together with the statistical methods used for analysis.
The Discussion should interpret the findings rather than repeat them, highlight the novelty and significance of the results, compare them with previous studies where appropriate, and indicate possible practical implications and directions for future research.
The Conclusions should summarize the principal findings and demonstrate how the research objective has been achieved.
References
All sources included in the reference list must be cited in the text.
In-text citations should follow the author–date format, for example:
(Jones, 1998, p. 199)
The reference list should be arranged alphabetically.
Whenever available, the DOI of a cited publication must be included.
USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
The use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools is permitted solely as an auxiliary aid in the preparation of manuscripts.
Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the facts, interpretations, citations, analyses, and conclusions presented in the manuscript, regardless of whether artificial intelligence tools have been used.
Artificial intelligence tools may not be listed as authors of a manuscript.
Where generative AI has been used to a significant extent in the preparation of a manuscript, such use must be appropriately disclosed in the manuscript (e.g., in the Acknowledgements or another relevant section).
